22 – ANNUAL REPORT 2007 The strength of an international organisation
From a solid base in Europe, Euler Hermes is expanding throughout the world, often acting as a pioneer in the credit insurance market. Its subsidiaries benefit from a strong local foothold as well as the global approach of a world leader. HELPING TO DEVELOP INTERNATIONAL TRADE The group’s international strategy is based on its determination to help clients develop in their domestic markets and abroad. With world trade growing by between 7% and 10% a year, new opportunities are opening up to businesses but the risk of non-payment is also growing. Thanks to its presence in all parts of the world, Euler Hermes can offer a customised service combining the power of a multinational group and local expertise. The group has expanded by integrating the national leaders in all the main credit insurance markets – principally Western Europe and the United States – and by opening subsidiaries in new markets such as Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. This strategy has enabled it to build up a very dense network, which is a major advantage in its field.
