Advancing the Mission of Marian
The Marian Fund: A new name, a new look,
but the same important program.
Over the years, Marian’s annual giving
program has grown significantly, increasing
the percentage of participation, the numbers
of volunteers and the amount of funds raised.
This program is now the apex of Marian’s
annual budget-relieving fundraising efforts.
It raises more than 50% of the fundraising
revenue necessary to balance Marian’s budget,
coming from thousands of individual charitable
contributions. Therefore, we determined the
program deserved a name equal to its impact:
The Marian Fund.
The program evolved to come to this new
name. What was once “the parent drive” and “the alumnae phonathon,” merged to become an
annual fund program in the late 90s. This comprehensive annual giving program enabled us
to maximize resources and communication tools, as well as to reach out to every member of
the Marian community. With one program, Marian could speak to parents and alums, as well
as parents of alums, friends and staff. We were able to cut program costs, making the most of
every gift. This fusion also brought with it a great energy, as parent, staff, alumnae and parent of
alum volunteers now join forces for planning and executing this year-long effort. They share an
enthusiasm for Marian that inspires support and success.
Today, gifts to The Marian Fund, sustain the mission of Marian High School in the same
important ways: ensuring Marian’s academic, spiritual and leadership programs remain
superlative; providing tuition assistance to those families who need help; and maintaining the
most professional and competent teachers and staff.
The goal is to empower our students to become confident, independent, thinking leaders whose
talents and faith will give hope to the world. We know, with your support, Marian is able to
graduate young women each year who do this. Your gifts impact our school and our world.
