The 278kW CHP system at Harrogate International Centre has enabled the low carbon development to become the greenest conference and exhibition destination in Europe. It will provide sustainable electricity and heating for a five-hall conference centre, Holiday Inn Hotel and council offices. The Tesco superstore in Welshpool has been installed with a 300kW trigeneration system which provides electricity, heating and cooling for the entire store and exports electricity to the national grid. As a preferred supplier of renewable energy to Tesco, Fleetsolve’s CHP has been the pivotal technology for a number of Tesco developments, including the world’s first Zero Carbon store in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire. Keith O’Connor, Fleetsolve’s Managing Director, told WIP: “We have worked closely with Harrogate Council to design a bespoke CHP system which not only satisfies the client’s needs, but has exceeded all their expectations; our client is now aiming to attain an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM award for the building.” He said: “Fleetsolve is committed to helping Tesco fulfil its pioneering goal of becoming a ‘Zero Carbon Business’. Since 2002, the company has developed its innovative Sustainable Power Solutions with an extensive programme of research and development. Based on a core expertise of engine and bio-fuel technology the company has a reputation in the industry as the authority on bio- powered solutions. Keith concluded: “Our engineering is second to none in the biofuel industry and has come through thousands of hours of rigorous testing, development and design modifications. “We operate a working fleet of biofuelled CHP generators throughout the UK and our biofuelled engines have been incorporated into a range of applications.
