The student chapters <strong>of</strong> these pr<strong>of</strong>essional societies are very<br />

active sponsoring various events during the year including<br />

Parent’s Weekend, field trips, and a number <strong>of</strong> guest speakers.<br />

In addition, students have opportunities to participate in<br />

regional and national student conferences as well as leadership<br />

seminars. Various types <strong>of</strong> scholarships, awards, and loans<br />

are available through the local chapters <strong>of</strong> these societies.<br />

Several student competitions are announced on a regular basis<br />

and students are always encouraged to participate in these<br />

competitions. Call the presidents (see student telephone book)<br />

or the faculty advisors <strong>of</strong> the student chapters to get more<br />

information about these activities.<br />
