MISCHIEF (Macmi)<br />

<strong>Hybrid</strong> <strong>Tea</strong> Rose. 1961. 3ft-4ft.<br />

A lovely rose with well formed medium sized flowers of a strong<br />

silvery salmon pink.<br />

They are double with 28 petals and hold their colour well.<br />

The flower production is amazing and the repeat cycle is exceptionally<br />

rapid.<br />

The foliage is light green and semi glossy on a vigorous and upright<br />

plant of medium height.<br />

This lovely rose which is an excellent bedding rose has lost its popularity<br />

over the last few years, which is a great shame as it is one of<br />

the best roses of the 1960s.<br />

MONIQUE<br />

<strong>Hybrid</strong> <strong>Tea</strong> Rose. 1949. 4ft.<br />

'Monique' is still a lovely, reliable garden rose after more<br />

than 50 years in commerce and is still very popular as a garden<br />

rose.<br />

The very long, pointed buds are a clear rosy salmon colour,<br />

rather more rose than salmon.<br />

The huge blooms open to shapely, double flowers with 25 petals<br />

which are up to 5ins (12cm) across and are extremely fragrant.<br />

It is a vigorous and upright bush with very few thorns that<br />

has pale green, medium sized foliage.<br />

This is an excellent rose for bedding and borders as it also has a good long flowering period.<br />

Is also one for the flower arrangers as it is a good rose for cutting as the blooms last well and fill the room<br />

with their perfume.<br />

Large beautifully formed blooms of intense blue-lilac with the<br />

petal edges tipped with violet.<br />

As the blooms develop the colour softens becoming a much<br />

warmer silvery-lilac shade.<br />

A very unusual rose which has strong vigorous healthy growth<br />

and produces a wealth of blooms with a staggering continuity.<br />
