MAP PROVISIONS: INDUSTRIAL<br />
Light Industrial (Map Code 7.1) - Unobtrusive industrial activities that can locate in<br />
close proximity to residential and commercial uses with a minimum <strong>of</strong><br />
environmental conflicts. These industries are characterized as labor-intensive<br />
and nonpolluting and do not produce fumes, odors, noise, or vibrations<br />
detrimental to nearby properties.<br />
<strong>Use</strong>s shall include, but are not limited to, the following:<br />
Wholesale businesses, storage buildings and yards, warehouses, manufacturing,<br />
and assembling.<br />
Service Industrial (Map Code 7.2) - Commercial or industrial activities which involve<br />
outdoor storage or use <strong>of</strong> heavy equipment. Such uses produce significant air or<br />
noise pollution and are visually obtrusive.<br />
<strong>Use</strong>s shall include, but are not limited to, the following:<br />
Automobile and truck parking, storage and repair shops, freighting or trucking<br />
yards, bottling plants, breweries, welding shops, cleaning plants, and other<br />
manufacturing and processing activities.<br />
Heavy Industrial (Map Code 7.3) - Large-scale industrial activities that are<br />
incompatible with other land uses because <strong>of</strong> potential severe environmental<br />
impacts and/or high employee densities.<br />
<strong>Use</strong>s shall include, but are not limited to, the following:<br />
Manufacturing, assembling and processing activities, transportation facilities,<br />
material and equipment storage, sawmills, foundries, refineries, and petroleum<br />
product storage.<br />
POLICIES: INDUSTRIAL<br />
1. Locations for new industrial activities shall be provided with adequate<br />
infrastructure (water, sewage disposal systems, roads, drainage, etc.) to<br />
minimize effects on <strong>County</strong> services.<br />
2. Map code designations for future industrial development shall not be made far in<br />
advance <strong>of</strong> demand.<br />
