Benchmarking
Information gathered
Street Scene compares individual service
performance through National Performance
Indicators with our “Group” and nationally.
Before the roll out, the dry recycling was collected
every fortnight from households with a participation
rate of 66%.
After the roll out of the food waste collection the dry
recycling participation rate increased to 84%. It is
important to be aware that the collection change to
weekly and that plastic was also added to the
scheme.
The participation rate for the food waste collection
was 79% based on the weighted results by
ACORN.
The Kg / household / week was calculated at
1.84kg and kg / per person / household / week at
2.33kg
These results indicate that the proposed service
strategy should meet the targets that are set for
East Devon DC.
Community involvement and engagement
through use of local schools in East Devon DC
to encourage composting and recycling.
Officer comments
The feedback from the Partnerships is used to
redirect resources such as REACT to the areas
/ hot spots identified as being of the greatest
need.
“Open all hours” ENCAM’s posters distributed to
local food outlets to reinforce the use of litter
bins.
Use in planning/designing service delivery
Comparison of the services with other
