<strong>Technology</strong> of Production of Foamglass<br />
Blocks<br />
Description<br />
The technology is based on the process of foam<strong>in</strong>g powdery<br />
cullet under high-temperature. The process <strong>in</strong>cludes<br />
the follow<strong>in</strong>g stages: wash<strong>in</strong>g of cullet, crush<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> gr<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
separation of needed fraction, mix<strong>in</strong>g with other additives,<br />
fill<strong>in</strong>g the form, pre-heat<strong>in</strong>g, foam<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the kiln,<br />
cool<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> anneal<strong>in</strong>g. Also, the technology of production<br />
of foamglass blocks from silica s<strong>and</strong> has been worked out.<br />
Innovative Aspects <strong>and</strong> Ma<strong>in</strong> Advantages<br />
Innovations are chemical content of powder <strong>and</strong> technological<br />
design. The material has good mechanical <strong>and</strong><br />
thermo physical properties <strong>in</strong> comparison with the exist<strong>in</strong>g<br />
analogues.<br />
Areas of Application<br />
Foamglass is an excellent thermal <strong>and</strong> noise <strong>in</strong>sulat<strong>in</strong>g material,<br />
which is used <strong>in</strong> construction, shipbuild<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> chemical<br />
burns <strong>in</strong>dustry. It does not decay or absorbs moisture.<br />
It has high hygienic properties.<br />
