Bioremediation technology for cleanup of m<strong>in</strong>eral s<strong>and</strong>s<br />
contam<strong>in</strong>ated by petroleum hydrocarbons has been developed<br />
by us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>digenous hydrocarbon degrad<strong>in</strong>g bacteria<br />
<strong>and</strong> ecologically safe easily degrade synthetic surface-active<br />
preparations (surfactants).<br />
The special fields <strong>and</strong> terms are required regard<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>itial<br />
content of hydrocarbons <strong>and</strong> might last to 6 months as<br />
a maximum.<br />
Innovative Aspects <strong>and</strong> Ma<strong>in</strong> Advantages<br />
This technology allows clean<strong>in</strong>g up of petroleum contam<strong>in</strong>ated<br />
s<strong>and</strong> which can be used for transformation <strong>and</strong> extraction<br />
of m<strong>in</strong>eral components.<br />
• Indigenous native hydrocarbon degrad<strong>in</strong>g bacteria are<br />
used;<br />
• Synthetic easily degrade chemicals are used as a surfactants<br />
that produced on a commercial scale;<br />
• Low cost <strong>and</strong> highly efficiency are a big plus;<br />
• It is also a solution for a very important ecological<br />
problem which is cleanup of oil contam<strong>in</strong>ated matters.<br />
Areas of Application<br />
Proposed technology can be used for clean<strong>in</strong>g up of different<br />
matters of natural orig<strong>in</strong>s such as native s<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> synthetic<br />
materials.<br />
Stage of Development<br />
Pilot experiments have been successful on the field of 200<br />
hectares, verify<strong>in</strong>g the theories.<br />
