Ballyvesey Holdings say they ‘are delighted to welcome the experienced and highly motivated TDL management and staff to our new company, which seamlessly commenced trading as TDL Equipment on the 18th June 2012.’ The acquisition was funded with the assistance of facilities provided by Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking team in Belfast. TDL Equipment has the Great Britain and Republic of Ireland 4 Plant & Civil EnginEER distribution rights for Terex Heavy Line Construction Equipment, Atlas Material Handlers and Genie Compact Telehandlers. With strategic locations and Aftermarket support across the UK and Ireland, TDL Equipment offers quality products, parts and services from their impressive portfolio of manufacturers to a wide range of businesses. Cameron Watson, General Manager of TDL Equipment said: ”While TDL has grown successfully over the past few years under the Finning Signs Exclusive Deal with Sleipner Finning UK and Ireland has completed an exclusive agreement with Sleipner of Finland to distribute and support its revolutionary transport systems for heavy mining and quarrying equipment. The agreement covers the whole of the UK and Ireland, stemming from the first successful introduction of the product by Finning in late 2011. Commonly known by enthusiasts as ‘skates’ for tracked excavators, the Sleipner system is designed to dramatically reduce maintenance cost for heavy loading equipment. Allowing customers to transport an excavator up to five times faster than driving on tracks, in-turn dramatically reducing wear and maintenance, transport times using Sleipner are reduced by approximately 80%. Commenting on the deal, Greg Mulhearn Finning core industries business manager, said: “With significant changes in health and safety for quarry and mining operators when it comes to dressing the face with mobile plant, more businesses will be moving locality meets Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) compliance standards.” “NI Water is currently investing approximately £3 million per week improving water and wastewater services throughout Northern Ireland and the upgrade of Tamnaherin is one of the many projects being undertaken to deliver a 21st century infrastructure to Northern Ireland.” The Mayor of Londonderry Alderman Maurice Devenney added: “The council welcomes this scheme which will bring significant benefits to wastewater services in the area for customers and will allow for future growth in the Tamnaherin area.” Terex umbrella, the distribution philosophy of Terex has always been to distribute through independent dealers and owning TDL has never fitted well into the Terex distribution strategy.
