<strong>2011</strong> HiGHliGHTS<br />

<strong>Providence</strong> Community Health foundation<br />

n <strong>Providence</strong> festival of Trees <strong>in</strong> Medford celebrated 20 years of<br />

holiday joy. from the first event <strong>in</strong> 1992, which raised $63,000<br />

for <strong>Providence</strong> Hospice, through the 20th annual event, more<br />

than $6 million has been raised <strong>in</strong> support of priority projects<br />

at <strong>Providence</strong> Medford Medical Center. The formal open<strong>in</strong>g<br />

night Gala welcomed 275 guests; the Holiday Party enterta<strong>in</strong>ed<br />

close to 550 people; and the Even<strong>in</strong>g of Giv<strong>in</strong>g reached out<br />

to more than 1,200 children <strong>in</strong> need and foster families. More<br />

than $463,000 was raised dur<strong>in</strong>g the five-day event, with net<br />

proceeds go<strong>in</strong>g to support <strong>Providence</strong> Sp<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong>stitute and<br />

<strong>in</strong>terventional pa<strong>in</strong> management. The foundation acknowledges<br />

that the festival would not be possible without the generous<br />

support of community sponsors and help<strong>in</strong>g hands of all the<br />

volunteers.<br />

n The southern oregon branch of the Sw<strong>in</strong>dells Resource Center<br />

of <strong>Providence</strong> Child Center attracted significant fund<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>2011</strong>. This will allow it to provide sign language classes, create<br />

a speakers series, and expand its hours to meet the grow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

requests from families of children with disabilities. The<br />

foundation is grateful to the follow<strong>in</strong>g partners for their support:<br />
