¡Sin impedimento! Permitiendo
que el Espíritu Santo obre en
nosotros Unhindered! Letting the Holy Spirit Work in Us

“Mas el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, benignidad,
bondad, fe, mansedumbre, templanza; contra tales cosas no hay
ley” (Gálatas 5:22–23).
La obra natural del Espíritu Santo en nosotros es concedernos
el fruto del Espíritu. Las cualidades de este fruto son rasgos del carácter de
Cristo. Cuando dejamos que el Señor nos controle, el Espíritu Santo obra en
nosotros como resultado de nuestra sumisión. Este fruto sólo se puede producir
con la ayuda del Señor, no por nuestra propia cuenta. En Juan 15:4–5
Jesús dice:
“Permaneced en mí, y yo en vosotros. Como el pámpano no puede
llevar fruto por sí mismo, si no permanece en la vid, así tampoco
vosotros, si no permanecéis en mí. Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos;
el que permanece en mí, y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto; porque
separados de mí nada podéis hacer”.
No es cuestión de cuánto del Espíritu Santo tenemos nosotros, sino cuánto
de nosotros tiene el Espíritu Santo. Permanecer en Cristo no sólo significa
creer en Él, sino también recibirlo como Salvador y Señor
de nuestra vida. Requiere una relación íntima y una
entrega completa. ¿Qué debemos hacer para permitir que
el Espíritu reine más poderosamente en nuestra vida?
• Vivir para Dios. Muchos creen en Dios pero no creen
a Dios. Creer que Dios existe no es suficiente. Debemos
creer que Dios es capaz de transformar nuestras vidas.
Necesitamos depositar en sus manos cada rincón de nuestra
vida: pensamientos, emociones, espíritu, alma y cuerpo. No
permitamos que nada ni nadie nos controle o nos distraiga.
• Vivir en Cristo. Es colocar a Jesús en el centro de nuestro
corazón. Pablo dijo: “Con Cristo estoy juntamente
crucificado, y ya no vivo yo, mas vive Cristo en mí; y lo
que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de
Dios, el cual me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí”
(Gálatas 2:20). Cuando nos entregamos a Cristo, Dios
nos ve como si hubiéramos muerto con Cristo, porque en
realidad nuestros pecados murieron con Él. Si Jesús es el
centro de su vida, nadie más ocupa ese espacio.
• Vivir por el Espíritu. El fruto del Espíritu no se limita
solamente a ganar almas; también se refiere al fortalecimiento
espiritual (Efesios 3:16–20). Tal como el amor de
Dios es total y penetra hasta lo más profundo de nuestro
ser, nuestra entrega a Dios debe ser total. Para estar llenos
del Espíritu Santo, no debemos guardar ningún rincón de
nuestro ser para nosotros, sino dejar que Él nos gobierne.
Una señora fue detenida por pronunciar palabras
ofensivas y amenazar al conductor de un auto que le precedía.
Unas horas más tarde el oficial le pidió excusas.
Había notado que ella tenía en su carro varias calcomanías
con versículos bíblicos y un pequeño pez, símbolo
del cristianismo, pero al verla en tan mala actitud la
detuvo porque pensó que el carro era robado.
Cuando usted planta un árbol de manzanas, no espera
que produzca peras. Tampoco Dios espera que produzcamos
otro fruto que no sean los rasgos del carácter de
Cristo. Aunque no entendamos cómo obra Dios, sabemos
que Él obra. ¿Quiere experimentar el poder del
Espíritu Santo? Sométase, déjelo obrar en su vida y se
sorprenderá de los resultados.
Preguntas para reflexión o diálogo
1. ¿Se puede ver en su vida evidencia del fruto del
Espíritu? Si no, ¿qué necesita hacer?
2. Lea Efesios 2:8–10. ¿Cuáles son las diferencias entre
las obras para tratar de ganar la salvación y las obras que
hacemos después de la conversión? ¿Qué relación hay
entre las buenas obras del creyente y el fruto del Espíritu?

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law”
(Galatians 5:22–23).
The Holy Spirit’s natural work in us is to produce in us the fruit of
the Spirit. The qualities of this fruit are character traits of Christ. When we allow
the Lord to control us, the Holy Spirit works in us as a result of our submission.
The fruit is only produced with the Lord’s help, not on our own. In John 15:4–5,
Jesus tells us,
“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in
me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in
him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Remaining in Christ requires a close relationship and a complete surrender.
What should we do to let the Spirit reign more powerfully in our lives?
• Live for God. Many believe in God, but they don’t believe God. Believing that
God exists is not enough. We must believe that God can transform our lives. We
need to give Him every corner of our lives: thoughts, emotions,
spirit, soul, and body. Let us not allow anything or
anyone else to control or distract us.
• Live in Christ. This is putting Jesus at the center of our
hearts. Paul said: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no
longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). When we give ourselves to
Christ, God sees us as if we had died with Christ, because
in reality our sins died with Him.
• Live through the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit isn’t limited
to winning souls; it also refers to spiritual strengthening
(Eph. 3:16–20). Just as God’s love is complete and
penetrates the deepest level of our being, our surrender to
God must be complete. To be filled with the Holy Spirit, we
shouldn’t keep any corner for ourselves, but rather let Him
govern us.
A woman was detained for offensive words and threats
toward another driver. A few hours later the official apologized.
He had noticed that her car had several stickers
with Bible verses and a small fish, a Christian symbol, but
when he saw her bad attitude he stopped her, because he
thought the car was stolen.
When you plant an apple tree, you don’t expect it to
produce pears. Neither does God expect us to produce fruit
that is not in Christ’s character.

works to try to earn salvation and works that we do after
becoming a Christian? What relationship is there between
the good works of a believer and the fruit of the Spirit?
