Ayudando al pobre y al necesitado
Helping the Poor and the Needy
da libremente al necesitado (véanse Proverbios 19:17;
Lucas 6:38).
menesteroso.
• Involucre a otros para atender estas necesidades.
“She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands
to the needy” (Prov. 31:20).
The author of Proverbs describes a virtuous
woman. She takes care of her family, and her kindness
makes her sensitive to the needs of others.
The Christian woman relies on God’s blessing to her
home, makes provision for her own, and then gets to serve
others. Today, there are many opportunities to the church
for service, and there are many women who reach out to
serve others. The Christian woman is blessed because she
gives freely to the needy (see Prov. 19:17; Luke 6:38). This
woman is guided by the biblical principle that says, “He who
gives to the poor will lack nothing” (Prov. 28:27). She sees
the hand of God caring for her own while she ministers to
others.
How do we distinguish between the poor and the
needy? The poor man is one who lacks food, shelter, etc.
The needy may have met their physical needs but lack
emotional support, direction, counseling, etc. The woman
who wants to serve her neighbor seeks the Lord’s direction
to meet others’ needs in the best way according to her own
experience and opportunities.
Application
• Make a list of things you can do for the poor.
• Ask the Lord to show you something simple to start to
make a difference helping the poor and the needy.
• Involve others to meet these needs.
