ABSTRACT
The rising employment of radioactive material poses two threats to
security. The first threat is the proliferation of weapons based on ionizing
radiation emitted from this material. However, it is more probable the
possibilities of terrorist use and the illicit activities against radioactive
installations.
The know-how of radiation and its risks help to reduce the threat.
It is the first step to establish measures to protect ourselves. These
measures and actions must be well coordinated between countries
with initiatives and treaties. The agreements should be under any
international organization control.
