<strong>of</strong> transportation is slower than air freight, large quantities <strong>of</strong> goods shipped via<br />
sea freight arrive at their <strong>de</strong>stination in good condition and in a cost-effective<br />
manner. Which documents are necessary to ensure a smooth clearance and dispatch<br />
<strong>of</strong> goods?<br />
a) Export Documents<br />
Shipping/Dispatch Or<strong>de</strong>r<br />
Should inclu<strong>de</strong> information concerning the recipient, <strong>de</strong>livery conditions, shipment informa<br />
tion (including content, number <strong>of</strong> packages, weight, measurements, information re<br />
garding the goods) and, if applicable, shipping <strong>de</strong>adlines and other important information<br />
concerning transportation provisions, such as stackability <strong>of</strong> pallets, etc.<br />
Invoice<br />
Commercial or Pro-forma invoice which states the value <strong>of</strong> all the invoiced goods including<br />
those shipped free <strong>of</strong> charge.<br />
Export Declaration/Single Administrative Document (EU)<br />
Letter <strong>of</strong> Credit<br />
Document which sets forth the customs relevant information for a shipment leaving the<br />
customs area.<br />
