5RSection 44.11 MOVING MOWER WITH ENGINESTOPPEDTo “free-wheel” or move the mower around without theengine running, rotate the dump valve levers counterclockwise.See Figure 4-4. Disengage the parking brakeand move the mower by hand. When the machine is in thedesired position, engage the parking brake and rotate thelevers clockwise until they stop. The dump valve levers mustbe returned to the DRIVE position and torqued to 10ft/lbsto drive the mower.DUMP VALVECONTROL LEVERS4.5.6.7.8.Keep mower and discharge chute clean.When mowing wet or tall grass, mow the grass twice.Raise the mower to the highest setting for the firstpass and then make a second pass to the desiredheight.Use a slow travel speed for trimming purposes.Operate the engine at full throttle for best cutting.Mowing with a lower RPM causes the mower to tearthe grass. The engine is designed to be operated atfull speed.Use the alternate stripe pattern for best lawnappearance. Vary the direction of the stripe eachtime the grass is mowed to avoid wear patterns inthe grass.4.13 ADJUSTING CUTTING HEIGHTThe mower deck can be adjusted from a height of 1-1/2inches to 5-1/2 inches at 1/4-inch intervals.
