Also today it is the second receiver of direct foreign investments,<br />

after the United States. At the same time, it is the fifth foreign investor,<br />

surpassing Japan and England. The Fortune Global List includes 61<br />

Chinese enterprises among the 500 biggest enterprises of the world.<br />

In 2001 there were only 16 enterprises. In 2010, the GDP in China<br />

represented 9.5% of the world´s. At the long range, the World´s Bank<br />

considers that if its growth goes up to 8% yearly, it will duplicated the<br />

size of the economy of the United States by 2030.<br />

The Fortune 500 ranking, which analyses the main 500 world´s<br />

enterprises, notes that in 2011 the first three enterprises in the energetic<br />

issue are Chinese (Sinopec Group, China National Petroleum, CNPC<br />

Corporation, positioned in the 5th, 6th and 7th place in the world´s level<br />

respectively), surpassing of that position the great automotive enterprises<br />

of Japan (Toyota Motor Corporation and Japan Post Holdings).<br />

In the issue of natural resources, in the period 2008-2009 China<br />

produced more than the 30% of the cotton and the rise that<br />

is consumed in the world and more than the 20% of the corn.<br />

Nevertheless, in spite of its production, China needs natural resources<br />

and primary products (such as oil, iron minerals, copper, nickel, soy) to<br />

supply and warrantee the availability of food to its population.<br />

In Metal and oil terms and accordingly with the reports made by the<br />

Economic Commission for <strong>La</strong>tin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL),<br />

China consumed 10% of the world´s oil in 2010.<br />
