Also today it is the second receiver of direct foreign investments,
after the United States. At the same time, it is the fifth foreign investor,
surpassing Japan and England. The Fortune Global List includes 61
Chinese enterprises among the 500 biggest enterprises of the world.
In 2001 there were only 16 enterprises. In 2010, the GDP in China
represented 9.5% of the world´s. At the long range, the World´s Bank
considers that if its growth goes up to 8% yearly, it will duplicated the
size of the economy of the United States by 2030.
The Fortune 500 ranking, which analyses the main 500 world´s
enterprises, notes that in 2011 the first three enterprises in the energetic
issue are Chinese (Sinopec Group, China National Petroleum, CNPC
Corporation, positioned in the 5th, 6th and 7th place in the world´s level
respectively), surpassing of that position the great automotive enterprises
of Japan (Toyota Motor Corporation and Japan Post Holdings).
In the issue of natural resources, in the period 2008-2009 China
produced more than the 30% of the cotton and the rise that
is consumed in the world and more than the 20% of the corn.
Nevertheless, in spite of its production, China needs natural resources
and primary products (such as oil, iron minerals, copper, nickel, soy) to
supply and warrantee the availability of food to its population.
In Metal and oil terms and accordingly with the reports made by the
Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL),
China consumed 10% of the world´s oil in 2010.
The history of the relationship between
Mexico and China goes back to the
beginning of the trips of the famous
China´s Nao, which allowed to establish a
fruitful commerce during the colonial era.
