Numerous clinical studies have shown the importance of obtaining an air-light seal in order to protect the pulp from bacterial colonization. This important consideration raises questions when dentin is to be etched. Pulp-capping, using adhesive resin, is, nevertheless, still a subject of controversy. The prognosis depends primarily on the correct evaluation of the pulp’s capacity to defend itself. RESUMEN COBERTURA PULPARIA DIRECTA : ¿ SISTEMAS ADHESIVOS O HIDROXIDO DE CALCIO ? Las técnicas adhesivas forman desde ahora parte integrante de la dentistería moderna, aportando excelentes propiedades de unión con todas las paredes de las cavidades. Numerosos estudios clínicos han mostrado la importancia de obtener una restauración estanca, para proteger la pulpa de una colonización bacteriana. Esta consideración predomina sobre la inquietud que puede suscitar el mordentado de la dentina. Sin embargo, la cobertura pulparia con resina adhesiva está todavía sujeta a controversias.
