BACKGROUND:!!<br />
Portal! vein! thrombosis! (PVT)! has! been! <strong>de</strong>scribed! after! splenectomy.! However,! no!<br />
treatment! strategy! have! been! established.! The! aim! of! this! monocentric! study! is! to!<br />
evaluate!risk!factors,!treatment!and!outcome!of!PVT.!<br />

METHOD!!<br />
On! a! 5Nyear! period,! we! reviewed! retrospectively! all! the! patients! who! have! un<strong>de</strong>rgone!<br />
open! or! laparoscopic! splenectomy! in! Toulouse! Purpan! University! Hospital! and! have!<br />
been!explored!!by!imaging!surveillance!before!POD40.!Patient!background,!indication!of!<br />
splenectomy,!operative!factors,!clinical!symptoms!and!biologic!data!were!examined.!<br />

RESULTS!!<br />
101!patients!were!analysed.!17!(16%)!<strong>TVP</strong>!were!i<strong>de</strong>ntified,!12!of!these!patients!(70%)!<br />
were! asymptomatics! and! most! of! <strong>TVP</strong>! (n=13)! were! found! before! POD7! on! computed!<br />
tomography! or! ultrasonography.! NonNhodgkinien! lymphoma! (NHL)! were! a! major! risk!<br />
factor!(p!600G/L(p=0,24)!and!splenomegaly!>!500!g!(p
