From the very beginning, Clearstream’s business has been based and is
highly reliant on IT. Clearstream Services, the IT subsidiary of Clearstream
that comprises more than 500 IT specialists, is one of the largest and most
advanced IT organisations in Luxembourg.
Clearstream Services has developed one of the most modern facilities in
Luxembourg for housing, protecting and running secure IT. Hosting (including
DRP and BCM), system, network, security, storage (including archiving
services) and database services, plus full IT operations services are part of
Clearstream Services’ portfolio of services in addition to consultancy, project
management and quality assurance services.
Specifically aimed at the financial sector, Clearstream Services S.A. has
received the status of Professionnel du Secteur Financier (PSF) from the
Luxembourg Ministry of Finance as “Primary IT systems operator of the financial
sector”, “Secondary IT systems and communication network operator
of the financial sector”, “Communication agent” and “Administrative agent”
required for the delivery of IT services.

Clearstream Services’ IT operations, development, project and security
management processes meet recognised quality assurance international
standards. Clearstream Services is certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), one
the world’s leading accredited certifying bodies, as meeting the requirements
of two international standards, namely ISO 9001:2000/TickIT for Quality Management
and ISO/IEC 20000:2005 for IT Service Management. As part of the
Clearstream’s SAS70 review conducted annually, Clearstream IT and related
processes go through an in-depth audit of control activities.
In addition, in its capacity as one of the world’s largest SWIFT network users,
Clearstream Services offers a seamless two-way managed access to the
SWIFT network for banks and corporates through its Swift Service Bureau.
