14. MAINTENANCE
For maintenance, use only specified spare parts. The manufacturer
will not be held responsible for any accident
occurring following a repair done other than by its After
Sales Service or approved repairers.
14.1. Changing the battery
Never open the clamp without first disconnecting
it from all external electrical sources.
n The clamp must not enclose any conductor.
n No leads should be connected.
n Set the switch to the OFF position.

Remove the screw from the lower case.
Replace the used battery with a 9 V battery, preferably
alkaline (type IEC 6LF22 or NEDA 1604).
14.2. Cleaning
n The clamp must be deconnected from all electrical source.
n Keep the teeth of the jaws perfectly clean: they should be
cleaned with a soft, slightly oiled cloth.
n Clean the case with a cloth slightly moistened with soapy
water. Rinse with a dry cloth. Then dry quickly with a cloth
or in a hot air stream .
14.3. Metrological check
It is essential that all measuring instruments are regulary
calibrated.
For checking and calibration of your instrument, please contact
our accredited laboratories (list on request) or the
CHAUVIN ARNOUX subsidiary or Agent in your country.
14.4. Repairs under or out of guarantee
Repairs under and out of guarantee : please return the product
to your distributor.
