14. MAINTENANCE<br />

For maintenance, use only specified spare parts. The manufacturer<br />

will not be held responsible for any accident<br />

occurring following a repair done other than by its After<br />

Sales Service or approved repairers.<br />

14.1. Changing the battery<br />

Never open the clamp without first disconnecting<br />

it from all external electrical sources.<br />

n The clamp must not enclose any conductor.<br />

n No leads should be connected.<br />

n Set the switch to the OFF position.<br />

Remove the screw from the lower case.<br />

Replace the used battery with a 9 V battery, preferably<br />

alkaline (type IEC 6LF22 or NEDA 1604).<br />

14.2. Cleaning<br />

n The clamp must be deconnected from all electrical source.<br />

n Keep the teeth of the jaws perfectly clean: they should be<br />

cleaned with a soft, slightly oiled cloth.<br />

n Clean the case with a cloth slightly moistened with soapy<br />

water. Rinse with a dry cloth. Then dry quickly with a cloth<br />

or in a hot air stream .<br />

14.3. Metrological check<br />

It is essential that all measuring instruments are regulary<br />

calibrated.<br />

For checking and calibration of your instrument, please contact<br />

our accredited laboratories (list on request) or the<br />

CHAUVIN ARNOUX subsidiary or Agent in your country.<br />

14.4. Repairs under or out of guarantee<br />

Repairs under and out of guarantee : please return the product<br />

to your distributor.<br />
