Autour du theme de l'ecologie sonore, en milieu urbain, Ie 7e Prlntemps
electroacoustlque Jlropose une scric d'evenements "celcbrailt"le 350e
anniversaire de la. fondation de la ville de Montreal, Ie 50Qe anniversaire
de la «decouverte» de l'Amerique et Ie 25e anniversaire de l'Exposition
universelle de Montreal. L'objectif du festival est de sensibiliser Ie public
a I'ecologic sonore urbaine avec des activites d'animation sonore
ex tiaordinaires.
En reponse ason appel d'reuvre pour Ie festival,lailce en novembre
1990 a I'echelle intemationale, I'Association pour la creation et la
recherche electroacoustiques duQuebec (ACREQ) a reyu au c de1a de 100 .
propositions de projets de compositeurs et d'artistes sonores de partout
dans Ie monde. Merci atous ceux 'qui ont soumis un projet.
Malheureusemenl, pour des raisons financicres, seuls quelques~unes de
, ces reuvres pouITont etre realisees, patcontre nous souhaitons presenter
certains evenements ulterieurement. Nous vous tiendrons en ConJact!
avec les developpemcnts du festival au co~ant de I'hiver. Rendez-vous a

Voici un aper~u des,grandcs Iignes de l'evenement (sujet a
confirmati'on):
Based on the theme of acoustic ecology within an urban
environment, the 7e Printemps electroacoustique proposes a series of
electroacouslic events "celebrating" the 350th anniversary of the
founding ofMontreal, the 500th anniversary ofthe "discovery" of
America lind the 25th anniversary of the 1967 Montreal World
Exhibition. The purpose of the festival is to familiarize the public
with urban sound ecology through a series ofextraordinary events in
sound.
In response to its call for works for the festival, ACREQ has
received over 100 proposals ofprojects from composcrs and sourid
artists from around the world. Thanks'to thoseof you who submiued
a proposal. Urifortunately, due to fmancial reasons, only a few of
these projects will be carried out, however we hope to prcient other
events inthe future. We will be in C01ltact! in the course ofthe winter
to let you know of the developmcnts of the festival. Stay tuned! We
hope to see you in Montreal in June, 1992.
