Caritas Burundi honorée par
la visite de Msgr. Pierre Cibambo,
Assistant Ecclésiastique de Caritas Internationalis

« Cette identité de Caritas s’enracine
dans l’Evangile du Christ. Il n’y
a pas d’Eglise sans Caritas, non
plus, il n’existe pas de Caritas sans
Eglise. Nous ne sommes pas une
ONG fondée sur une idéologie, c’est
plus fort qu’une ONG, » a-t-il conclu.
Il a aussi rappelé à ceux qui
oeuvrent au sein de Caritas qu’il
doivent être professionnels. Il leur
faut aussi une forte formation du
cœur pour mieux servir les plus
vulnérables. Le pauvre est notre
patron, il faut renoncer à l’arro--
gance comme Jésus disait « ce que
vous avez fait aux pauvres, c’est à
moi-même que vous l’avez fait ».

Msgr. Pierre Cibambo, ecclesiastical Assistant
to Caritas Internationalis
Msgr. Pierre Cibambo, Caritas Internationalis ecclesiastical
Assistant, visited Burundi in early August 2018.
During his visit, he celebrated mass for all members of the
Caritas Burundi network and he developed a very
interesting theme, namely: "Caritas within the church, its
history, its basic principles and its achievements."
He explained that we must be attentive to be able to
identify the evil within us and the good. Once we are able
to know the evil present in us, we shall improve. Society,
the country and the church will also improve, he said.
"As Caritas, we have the mission to serve, to accompany
and to defend," he said, reminding participants to act very
quickly to save lives but also to make communities more
autonomous and resistant.
Speaking about the identity of Caritas as a Catholic Church
organisation, he summed it up using three questions
illustrating the identity of Caritas:
- Who are we?
- What do we do?
- What inspires us to do so?
This Caritas identity is rooted within the Gospel of Christ.
There is no Church without Caritas, nor is there any
Caritas without a Church, he said, reminding those who
work in Caritas that they must be professional. They also
need a strong heart formation to better serve the most
vulnerable.

Mons. Pierre Cibambo, assistente eclesiástico internacional da
Caritas International, visitou Burundi no início de agosto de 2018.
Durante sua visita, ele celebrou a missa para todos os
membros da rede Caritas Burundi e desenvolveu um tema
muito interessante, a saber: "Caritas dentro da igreja, sua
história, seus princípios básicos e suas realizações."
Ele explicou que devemos estar atentos para sermos capazes de
identificar o mal dentro de nós e do bem. Uma vez que somos
capazes de conhecer o mal presente em nós, vamos melhorar.
Sociedade, o país ea Igreja também vai melhorar, disse ele.
« Como Caritas, temos a missão de servir, acompanhar e
defender,» disse ele, lembrando os participantes a agir
muito rapidamente para salvar vidas, mas também para
tornar as comunidades mais autônomas e resistentes.
Falando sobre a identidade da Caritas como uma
organização da Igreja Católica, ele resumiu-se usando três
questões que ilustram a identidade da Caritas:
- Quem somos nós?
- O que faremos?
- O que nos inspira a fazê-lo?
Esta identidade Caritas está enraizada no evangelho de
Cristo. Não há Igreja sem Caritas, nem há nenhuma Caritas
sem uma igreja, disse ele, lembrando aqueles que
trabalham na Caritas que eles devem ser profissionais. Eles
também precisam de uma forte formação do coração para
melhor servir os mais vulneráveis.
