La journée qui suit est sous le signe de la découverte du
lagon. Le bateau « Babaomby Lodge » nous ouvre la voie,
sa grand-voile file plein largue et les windsurfers «jouent»
autour. Cap sur Nosy Antaly Be, l’île la plus à l’ouest du
lagon au large de la forêt de baobabs. L’extrémité de l’île
est une pointe de sable qui se jette dans l’eau, encore un
site extraordinaire pour glisser. Nous remontons ensuite
vers la « piscine » pour découvrir un des plus beaux spots
de glisse du monde. L'eau turquoise est si translucide
que l’on se demande si tout cela est bien réel. Un plan
d’eau lisse idéal pour les débutants comme pour ceux
qui veulent battre des records de vitesse.
The following day is devoted to discovering the
lagoon. The boat ‘Babaomby Lodge’ opens the way for
us, her mainsail out, and the windsurfers ‘play’ around.
We head out to Nosy Antaly Be, the most westerly island
in the lagoon, flanked by a baobab forest. The tip of the
island is a spit of sand jutting out into the water, another
extraordinary site for windsurfing. Then we go back to the
‘pool’ to discover one of the most beautiful windsurfing
spots in the world. The turquoise green water is so
translucent that it appears unreal. A smooth stretch of
water ideal for beginners as well as those hoping to break
world speed records.
