CIM (Centre for International Migrationand Development)CIM (Centre for International Migration andDevelopment), a joint operation of theDeutsche Gesellschaft fuer TechnischeZusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH and theGerman Central Placement Office (ZAV) ofthe Federal Employment Institute (BA), is ahuman resources provider with a development-policymission.On request, CIM will place Integrated Expertswithin an institution in a partner country.CIM experts are “integrated” in that theyare legally and professionally answerable toa local employer, with whom they enter intoa contract of employment in line with localterms and conditions. This ensures that theemployer retains full initiative and responsibility.The “Integrated Experts” programmedoes not require any prior inter-governmentalnegotiations. It provides rapid and unbureaucraticanswers to immediate staffing andexpertise shortages in partner countries.Indonesia is one of CIM’ s priority countriesin Asia. In 2000 DSE welcomed 493 participantsfrom Indonesia.Cooperation between DSE and Indonesianpartners is based on the priorities of theIndonesian National Development Programand the prioritiy areas of Indonesian-Germandevelopment cooperation.
