Recognize fourteen projects as winners of the 2009 Pinnacle Awards
The Marble Institute of America
(MIA) has annonced the winners
of its prestigious 2009 Pinnacle
Awards competition as well as
the winner of the Grande Pinnacle
Award, sponsored by Marmomacc.
The “W” Hotel in South Beach,
Florida and submitted by Italbec
U.S. located in Dania Beach,
Florida, was honored with the
Grande Pinnacle Award. The
award was presented to Rick
Watson and Fiore Vadacchino of
Italbec by Mauro Albano, manager
of the Marmomacc Trade
Guido Gliori , presenting the Award to Fiore Vadacchino
and Rick Watson of Italbec U.S.
nacle Award designed by
Tobia Scarpa of Venice, Italy.
Scarpa is an award-winning
architect, designer and restoration
specialist whose designs
have been displayed in some
of the world’s premier museums.
In addition to the award,
Italbec U.S. received an all-expense
paid trip to Marmomacc
2010 in Verona, Italy.
The overall Pinnacle Awards
competition honors project
that demonstrate exceptionnal
beau ty, creativity and craftsmanship
in the use of grande
Show. Italbec U.S. supplied and installed over 400.000 square feet and
$14.5 million worth of eight different natural stones at this new luxury
hotel. A panel of four judges from Italy and the U.S. called the “W”
Hotel “showroom of the use of stones and its varied patterns, colorations
and textures”. Italbec U.S. receveid a magnificenty crafted Grande Pin-
marble, travertine, limestone and other natural stones. The awards were
presented at the MIA Annual Awards Luncheon at StonExpo/Marmomacc
America in Las Vegas on October 23, 2009. The 2009 Pinnacle
Award winners are: Grand e Pinnacle Award and Commercial Interior
Award of Excellence were presented to Italbec U.S.
