CANADIAN FEDERAL POLITIC
Massimo Pacetti
Announces the Return
of the Canada Summer Jobs Program
Montréal (Québec) – January 18, 2010- Every
year during the summer, students throughout
Canada leave their classrooms and make their
first forays into the working world hoping to gain
valuable experience that could help launch their
careers once they graduate. Meanwhile, many
businesses and non-profit organizations would
like to employ students during the summer in
order to benefit from their youth and dynamism
but lack the necessary finances. It is for this reason
that Massimo Pacetti, Member of Parliament
for Saint-Léonard / Saint-Michel wants to inform
Canadian employers and students about the
Canada Summer Jobs Program.
“This Program has been a huge success over the
years.” stated Mr. Pacetti. “When the previous
Liberal government launched the program for the
first time as the Summer Career Placement Program, we knew it was a good initiative that
would provide students with solid work experience and it would allow employers who ordinarily
would not be able to hire on additional employees to compete with larger companies
for the services of talented young students.”
Employers must submit an application form outlining the positions that students would fill
during the summer. This application form must be submitted no later than February 26,
2010. Late applications will not be considered.
The application form, eligibility criteria and relevant contact information will be posted
on February 1, 2010 at www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj2010 and any questions regarding
the program can be addressed to Canada Summer Jobs at 1-800-935-5555. Please note
that applications can be submitted online, by fax, by mail, or in person at your local Service
Canada Center.
