M) Facies<br />
Come ultima cosa va annotata la l<strong>it</strong>ofacies dello strato descr<strong>it</strong>to.<br />
Per l<strong>it</strong>ofacies si intende l’insieme degli aspetti l<strong>it</strong>ologici che caratterizzano<br />
una roccia sedimentaria.<br />
Le l<strong>it</strong>ofacies vengono attribu<strong>it</strong>e per mezzo di schemi e codifiche. Purtroppo<br />
non esiste una codifica unica per tutti i tipi di depos<strong>it</strong>i.<br />
Le codifiche più utilizzate in geologia del Quaternario sono quelle di Miall<br />
(1977; 1978; 1984; 1985), Eyles & Miall (1983), Gnaccolini, Coltorti et alii<br />
(1983).
