Remarks: Spirobranchus gardineri was erroneously placed under Spirobranchus giganteus<br />

corniculatus by TEN HOVE (1970 b). Spirobranchus gardineri is now considered to be a distinct<br />

<strong>species</strong> (TEN HOVE 1994).<br />

Remarks: AMOUREUX et al. (1978) reported <strong>the</strong> <strong>species</strong> only tentatively, <strong>the</strong>refore its<br />

occurrence in <strong>the</strong> Red Sea needs to be confirmed. According to ten Hove (pers. comm.), this<br />

record might belong to Spirobranchus latiscapus.<br />
