Regional distribution: Red Sea.<br />

Remarks: In addition to <strong>the</strong> record from Mauritius, SAVIGNY (1822, 1826) reported ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

one from <strong>the</strong> Red Sea, according to a pers. comm. to him by Cuvier. WATSON-RUSSEL (1989), who<br />

revised <strong>the</strong> genus Palmyra, was not able to locate any specimens from <strong>the</strong> Red Sea. Therefore <strong>the</strong><br />

occurrence <strong>of</strong> this <strong>species</strong> is doubtful.<br />

Regional distribution: Red Sea.<br />

Remarks: There is only this single record <strong>of</strong> an Arenicola <strong>species</strong> by CROSSLAND (1923) from<br />

<strong>the</strong> Arabian region. As it is a valid genus, it is mentioned herein.<br />
