MONRO (1937), however, did not describe a new <strong>species</strong> under <strong>the</strong> name G. eximia, he just<br />

reported a new record <strong>of</strong> this <strong>species</strong> that was originally described by EHLERS (1900). Obviously<br />

HARTMAN (1974 b) referred to her world-wide <strong>species</strong> catalogue (HARTMAN 1959), where she<br />

already had listed <strong>the</strong> record by MONRO (1937) as a distinct <strong>species</strong>, besides <strong>the</strong> one described by<br />

EHLERS (1900). In this work she also indicates that MONRO’s <strong>species</strong> is very similar to G. maculata.<br />

Until <strong>the</strong> specimens are checked O. eximia is regarded as valid.<br />

Remarks: The <strong>species</strong> was only tentatively reported by MONRO (1937) and he noted that it<br />

may belong to Goniada emerita Audouin & Milne-Edwards, 1933 b. HARTMAN (1959) followed<br />

MONRO (1937) and referred his record to Goniada emerita.<br />

according to PLEIJEL (1998), H. ehlersi is possibly a junior synonym <strong>of</strong> H. splendida Savigny in<br />

Lamarck, 1818.<br />
