Family Pholoidae Kinberg, 1857<br />

According to PETTIBONE (1992 a), <strong>the</strong> family was first described by KINBERG in 1858, but <strong>the</strong><br />

imprinted date in <strong>the</strong> original work <strong>of</strong> KINBERG is 1857 for <strong>the</strong> pages 1-8 and <strong>the</strong> plates 1-8,<br />

whereas <strong>the</strong> pages 9-32 were issued in 1858.<br />

Remarks: PETERSEN (1998) stated that P. synophthalmica Claparède, 1868 is very similar to<br />

P. inornata. According to Barnich (pers. comm.), P. synophthalmica is a synonym <strong>of</strong> P. inornata.
