Regional distribution: Arabian Sea.<br />

Remarks: A specimen from Madagascar was chosen as type by HARTMAN (1974 a), but she<br />

also reported <strong>the</strong> new <strong>species</strong> from <strong>the</strong> Arabian Sea.<br />

Family Dorvilleidae Chamberlin, 1919<br />

There has been some confusion in <strong>the</strong> literature about <strong>the</strong> taxonomic position <strong>of</strong> ‘dorvilleid’<br />

genera and some have been included in <strong>the</strong> Iphitimidae or Dinophilidae. According to FAUCHALD &<br />

ROUSE (1997), <strong>the</strong> genera listed here are now considered to be members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> family Dorvilleidae.<br />
