pure silver, mixed with resin which enabled her to
create her chunky, archaic and apparently heavy
jewels but extremely light and easy to wear.
It is not jewellery, but art; unique, hand-sculpted
pieces. Sometimes, these pieces are completed
with wonderful precious and semi-precious stones,
often set uncut. In these 25 years of work,
her sculptures-to-wear have been exhibited in important
museums from New York to Boston, from
Palm Beach to Paris and Brussels. Nemo prophet
in his homeland. These last five decades the artist
has been living in New York even if she often
returns for short periods to breathe Tuscan air.
Currently representing her art in Italy are Carla
Sozzani in her Milanese “10 Corso Como” and
Chiara Voliani who is her exclusive rep in Italy
and Europe and who has accepted to exalt Giuliana
Michelotti’s work in this photographic shoot.
“It’s an emotion,” she told us, “ because they let
out energy while telling of the artist’s personality.
Each piece is unique, entirely hand modelled in
every part, so much that often the artist’s fingerprints
can be seen”.

le permette di creare i suoi monili dalle forme
importanti, materiche, arcaiche, apparentemente
pesanti ma leggerissimi e facili da indossare.
Non si tratta di oreficeria, ma di arte, pezzi unici
scolpiti a mano. Talvolta questi oggetti si completano
con splendide pietre preziose e semipreziose,
spesso incastonate semi grezze. In questi 25
anni di attività le sue sculture da indossare sono
state esposte in importanti musei da New York a
Boston, da Palm Beach a Parigi e Bruxelles. Nemo
profeta in patria. Perché da 5 lustri l’artista vive a
New York anche se torna spesso per brevi periodi
a respirare aria di Toscana. Attualmente a rappresentare
la sua arte in Italia sono Carla Sozzani nel
suo luogo cult milanese “10 Corso Como” e Chiara
Voliani che ha l’esclusiva commerciale in Italia
ed Europa e che si è prestata ad esaltare il lavoro
di Giuliana Michelotti in questo servizio fotografico.
“E’ un’emozione - ci ha detto - perché danno
energia mentre raccontano la personalità dell’artista.
Ogni pezzo è unico, interamente modellato a
mano in ogni sua componente, tanto che spesso si
trovano le impronte digitali dell’artista”.
