38 Restaurants Muse Berlin MUSE BERLIN Started by former supper-club hosts in 2013, within five years, Muse has become a neighbourhood institution, where guests praise the deceptively simple cuisine, the charming ambience and deÅLcor, the friendly service and the warm, relaxed, “at home” atmosphere. With a focus on quality ingredients, the intention here is to simply put smiles on guests’ faces with honest and inspired cooking. The international kitchen team all provide creative input resulting in an eclectic range of dishes that people simply want to eat: comfort food par excellence. For those wanting only a drink, the Muse bar also excels in an exciting range of classic and unique cocktails, wines that are both high quality and good-value, and craft beers from the tap. Honecker and Breschnew locked in a kiss of brotherly, socialistic love. With the East Side Gallery, a segment of the Berlin Wall has been turned into the longest open air gallery in the world. The Kunstmeile – or art mile in English – is located along the banks of the river Spree in Friedrichshain. At 1316 m long it is also the longest segment of the Berlin Wall still standing. Right after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery was painted by 118 artists from 21 different countries. Using various artistic means, the artists commented on the political events that took place in 1989 and 1990 in over 100 works of art found on the eastern side of the wall. Over the years, many of the images became greatly weathered and in 2009, forty of these works of art were restored.
