Museum Boerhaave is het rijksmuseum
voor de geschiedenis van de
natuurwetenschappen en geneeskunde.
Het museum is gevestigd
in het voormalige Caeciliagasthuis,
het oudste academische ziekenhuis
van Noord-Europa. Hier gaf
Herman Boerhaave rond 1720 zijn
onderwijs aan het ziekbed. Vanaf
oktober 2012 biedt een van deze
Boerhaave-zalen ruimte voor een
congres of feest. Een unieke plek
voor uw vergadering, lezing, receptie
of feest. En goed om te weten:
Museum Boerhaave beschikt tevens
over een Anatomisch Theater en een
besloten binnentuin die tijdens uw
congres of feest gebruikt kunnen
worden.

Museum Boerhaave is the Dutch National
Museum for the History of Science and
Medicine. In 1931 it opened its doors.
Since 1991 Museum Boerhaave is
located in the former Caecilia Hospital, in
the centre of Leiden. This historic building
has had various functions over time. The
original nunnery of St Caecilia dates from
the early 15th century. In 1635 it became
an University hospital. It was here, around
1720, that Herman Boerhaave gave his
famous sickbed lessons that drew medical
students to Leiden from around the world.
After extensive restoration, the building
has been used as a museum. One of the
Boerhaave rooms is used for congresses
and events. The Anatomical Theatre and
the lovely garden can also be used to
cover your event.
