adapt to different media. Social media,<br />
political media – you also have to<br />
be a politician. You can’t just say or do<br />
everything anymore, because everybody’s<br />
got a goddamn camera on their<br />
phone. So you have to be very delicate<br />
and deliberate in how you approach<br />
your image.<br />
How has watching all these<br />
contestants over the past six<br />
seasons inuenced your own<br />
style of drag, or has it?<br />
It really hasn’t influenced me. Right<br />
now we’ve released 75 girls into the<br />
pop zeitgeist. I’m just more proud of<br />
them. They’ve really taken over the<br />
night club business. They work in Holland,<br />
South Africa, Australia, they’ve<br />
performed all around the world. In<br />
clubs and bars around the US, you<br />
can’t really get a booking unless<br />
you’ve been one of my girls. They’ve<br />
inspired me in their tenacity. Not<br />
necessarily in my style, but just in their<br />
ability to prevail.<br />
