Além do mais,o tijolo perfurado ocasionalmentepermite a entrada de ar e luz em váriospátios isolados.58 ArchiNews 24Since the very beginning on itspractice, PROMONTORIO has beeninvolved on educational projects. From schools and cultural facilitiesto museums and art galleries, a widerange of learning approaches hasbeen tested and implemented withconsiderable success and accruedexperience.Working in close collaborationwith the teachers and pedagogues,PROMONTORIO has attemptedto challenge the preconceivedclassroom space planning principles, into a more fluid and dynamicspatial interaction that meets theincreasing demand for flexibilityin the learning methods, both atkindergarten and primary schoollevels. After research and mockuptesting with the Parque team, the pentagonal classroom modulegained consistency as a unifyingenvironment able to respond toa dynamic multitask educationalproject. Ranging in scale and height, the classrooms, the library, theart room and the canteen flow in asequence of generous and surprisingspaces both from the outside and theinside. Whitewashed in burnt lime, the tectonic articulation between theportent walls of bond brickwork andconcrete cast in-situ, contrasts withlarge and transparent glass panes. The latter, when open, blur theboundaries between outside andinside. In addition, the occasionallypunctured brickwork lets air andlight into a series of secluded patios.Entrada EntranceSala polivalente Multipurpose classroom
