RIPARIAN FORESTS
A necessidade do uso racional dos recursos naturais
levou a C.Vale a fornecer mudas e assistência técnica
aos associados para estimular a recuperação de matas
ciliares e a conservação de nascentes. Ao mesmo
tempo, uma área de 1.500 hectares de reflorestamento
fornece lenha para abastecer caldeiras das indústrias
e secadores nas unidades de recebimento de grãos da
cooperativa. Os produtores de frango também utilizam
lenha de reflorestamento para aquecer os aviários.
The need for rational use of natural resources caused
C.Vale to provide seedlings and technical support
to its associates, in order to encourage the recovery
of riparian forests and the conservation of water
springs. At the same time, an area of 1,500 hectares
of reforestation supplies firewood for use in boilers at
the industries and driers in the grain receiving units
of the cooperative. The chicken producers also use
reforestation firewood to heat up aviaries.
