om a crise mundial gerada pela pandemia do novo<br />
coronavírus, governos por todo o mundo tiveram que<br />
criar pacotes para o estímulo econômico em diversos<br />
segmentos industriais. Nos EUA (Estados Unidos da<br />
América), grande importador da madeira brasileira, o<br />
Congresso aprovou há três meses uma medida emergencial que<br />
irá auxiliar trabalhadores e empresas a enfrentar este momento<br />
de incertezas. De acordo com o economista Roberto Dumas<br />
Damas, esse deverá ser o caminho a ser tomado por diversos países,<br />
inclusive pelo Brasil. Pesquisador de crises econômicas nos<br />
séculos XX e XXI, o especialista diz que o governo, por mais liberal<br />
que seja, não tem outra alternativa neste momento que não<br />
seja a intervenção com ações keynesianas na economia nacional.<br />
“Não há superação de crise que não passe pela liberação de<br />
muito dinheiro e por uma política fiscal expansionista”, sustenta o<br />
professor. Mas ele alerta: o risco dessa política é gerar uma bolha<br />

ith the global crisis generated by the pandemic<br />

the world had to create economic stimulus packages<br />
for various industrial segments. In the<br />
United States, a major importer of Brazilian forest<br />
products, three months ago, Congress approved an emergency measure<br />
that will help workers and companies face this moment of uncertainty.<br />
According to economist Roberto Dumas Damas, this should be<br />
the path to be taken by many countries, including Brazil. Researcher<br />
of economic crises in the 20th and 21st centuries, the expert says that<br />
Government, however liberal it may be, has no alternative at this time<br />
other than an intervention with Keynesian actions in the national economy.<br />
“There is no overcoming of a crisis that does not involve the<br />
release of a lot of money and an expansionary fiscal policy,” says the<br />
professor. But he warns: the risk of this policy is to generate a financial<br />
