Dr. Sinan KAZAN Eş-Danışman / Co-Advisor ÖZET Bu tez çalışmasında GaAs alttaş saçtırma tekniği ile büyütülmüş Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) ve Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / Pt(5Å)/IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) örneklerinin yapısal ve manyetik özellikleri incelendi. X-ışını yansıması tekniği ile örneklerin kalınlıkları, yoğunlukları ve pürüzlülükleri belirlendi. Örneklerin manyetik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi için VSM ve MOKE teknikleri kullanıldı. Oda sıcaklığında örneklerin kolay eksenini belirlemek için örnek düzlemine dik ve paralel manyetik alan uygulanarak her iki sistemde ölçümler yapıldı. Ölçüm sonuçlarına göre Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) örneği dik mıknatıslanmaya olduğu bulundu. Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / Pt(5Å)/IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) örneğinin ise örnek düzleminde kolay eksene sahip olduğu görüldü. VSM tekniği ile, örneklerin kolay eksen yönünde belirli sıcaklıklarda mıknatıslanma ölçümleri yapıldı. ABSTRACT In this thesis, We investigate the structural and magnetic properties of Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) and Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / Pt(5Å)/IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) grown GaAs substrates by sputtering. Thin films thickness, density and surface or interface roughness are determined by using XRR technique. Magnetic properties have been measured by VSM and MOKE system. Both out-of-plane and in-plane hysteresis curves were measured at room temperature to determine easy axis of samples. The results have shown that Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) sample has perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, but Pt(30Å) / Co(5Å) / Pt(5Å) / IrMn(30Å) / Pt(30Å) sample has easy axis in the film plane. M versus H loops were recorded at selected temperatures by VSM magnetometry.
