Shri Guru Ravidass Ji was born in Kanshi (Banaras) India in the 14th century and devoted his life to preach
equality, universal brotherhood and tolerance in order to abolish social prejudices such as the caste system
that was prevalent in Indian society.
The mission of Shri Guru Ravidass ji became clear, to teach all mankind a single minded devotion to
one God and to eliminate the stain of the caste system. Guru Ji strongly believed in a society where there
is no place for fear hate, sin, sorrow or slavery.
Guru Ji’s battle throughout his life was made no easier by his low caste inheritance where his social level
was not even allowed to visit or worship in a temple and was deprived of a free democratic life.
Shri Guru Ravidass Ji rose against this prejudice and he became the holy and spiritual guest of Kings,
Queens. Princes and Princess. Guru Ji’s mission gave him strenghth to perform miracles and to liberate
and unite mankind preaching truth, equality and the infinite power and faith of the one God.
