1960년에 프랑스 ‘루르드’에서 태어난 Mauro Corda
는 아주 어린 나이에 조각의 재능을 보여주었다. 15세
때에 École des Beaux-Arts of Reims에 입학했고,
이후 학업을 마치기 위해 파리로 갔다. 주로 인물을 조
각했던 Corda는 청동, 알루미늄, 철, 스테인레스, 연
마 강철 및 유리 등 다양한 재료를 사용한다. Corda
의 작품은 아르헨티나 부에노스 아이레스의 Museo
Eduardo Sívori, 쿠바의 Museo Victor Hugo 및 스
페인 바르셀로나의 Museo Frederic Marès 등 해
외 여러 미술관에 전시되었다. 그의 작품은 해외 갤러
리에도 많이 전시되었다. Corda는 Paul Belmondo
Award, French Order of Arts and Letters 등 많
은 상을 수상했다.
Born in 1960 in Lourdes, France, Mauro Corda displayed
a talent for sculpting at a very early age. At 15, he was
admitted to the École des Beaux-Arts of Reims and later
went on to finish his studies in Paris. Predominantly
a sculptor of the figure, Corda uses a rich variety of
material such as bronze, aluminium, iron, stainless and
polished steel as well as glass for his forms. Corda’s
work has been exhibited in a number of international
museums including the Museo Eduardo Sívori in
Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Museo Victor Hugo in
Cuba and the Museo Frederic Marès of Barcelona,
Spain. He has been exhibited extensively in art galleries
internationally. Corda has been the recipient of several
awards, including the Paul Belmondo Award and the
French Order of Arts and Letters.
