Exterior

Pajero Sport uses high-output, longlasting

LEDs for its self-levelling headlights,

tail and brake lights, fog lights, and

Daytime Running Lights for exceptional

visibility and clarity.

White is the standard colour at no

charge, others cost $740 extra, except

White Diamond at $940.

Ride & Handling

Our test car's 2.4L turbo diesel engine

can supply 133kW of power and 430Nm of

torque to its four-wheel drive with an eightspeed

torque-coverter.

Pajero Sport’s “Super Select ll 4WD

system lets you switch between 2WD and

4WD modes at up to 100kmh to adapt to

changing road conditions. Super Select has

four modes to handle everything from

smooth city lanes to hazardous conditions

and extreme terrain with minimal grip

levels, all controlled by a single switch on

the centre console. It has 3,100kg braked

towing capacity.

The Pajero’s ride is mostly tuned for

comfort, in its nature. While steering is

responsive, we found there is a bit of body

roll. Overall it is comfortable on the

freeway and feels safe. Visibility is excellent

out of the cabin.

Mitsubishi claims fuel economy of 8-

litre per 100km. The fuel tank stores 68

litres.

Safety

The all-new Pajero Sport comes with

very comprehensive active and passive

safety features that work in unison,

alternating, guiding, and reactivating to

keep the driver and passengers safe.

Mitsubishi's RISE impact safety body

design and a total of seven SRS airbags

provide occupants with outstanding

passive safety. Active safety features

include the Forward Collision Mitigation

system (FCM), the Blind Spot Warning

system (BSW, a first on a Mitsubishi

model), and the Ultrasonic Mitigation

System (UMS).

It has a five-star rating from ANCAP

(2015).

Service

Mitsubishi offers Australia’s only 10-

Year New Car Warranty with 10 Years

Capped Price Servicing. It is a guarantee

that stands apart from other automotive

manufacturers, and is a commitment to

how well every Mitsubishi is built and

backed.

Services should be completed at 12-

month intervals or every 15,000km,

whichever is first.

The first three years of capped-price

will cost around $1,297; Service 1 $399

Service 2 $399 and Service 3 $499.

The rest of the seven years; Service 4

$699 Service 5 $499 Service 6 $699

Service 7 $499 Service 8 $999 Service 9

$599 and the 10th Service $699. Total

cost $4,693.

Verdict

The Pajero Sport GLS is spacious

inside and has the tech for great

infotainment functionality.

It is value for money, especially with

its whopping 10 year/200k km warranty

and capped price service.

Key rivals are the Ford Everest, Toyota

Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X.
