sect. A nomos of this kind is to be considered a subnomos and makes the past sect involvement<br />

meaningful in relation to the lived present. For some this nomos is explicit which makes their in-<br />

volvement with other defectors and having a general interest in relating subjects a permanent in-<br />

volvement. For others it is implicit and a result of a temporary involvement with other defectors.<br />

Common for both is the fact that they have the experience of sharing a past and experiences with<br />

others and this is considered meaningful in order to get on with life in a meaningful way.<br />

Overall it must be concluded that it makes sense to claim a certain degree of dependency on the<br />

basis of a sect involvement being a fervent follower. The involvement results in certain interests in<br />

maintaining contact with other defectors, other religious people and interest in subjects relating to<br />

this. Also regarding the process of defecting where the person step by step prepares himself to leave<br />

the sect can be compared to wean off drugs in a slow but secure way and avoiding abstinences. It<br />

therefore cannot be overlooked that a sect involvement has a significant impact on what a person<br />

afterwards get involved with and find meaningful.<br />
