The newest dance club is Foxy Gay
Club, which is centrally located almost
next to the Central Station. The club is
open on Friday and Saturday nights.
The music is mostly mainstream hits, as
known from the upper floor at the well
known, but now closed Pan gay club.
The Rocco parties, normally one
Saturday a month, have a reputation
for attracting some of Copenhagen’s
hottest guys, some of them dancing
with their t-shirt off rather than on. The
music is house and electro, occasionally
with DJ’s from abroad.
The Wonk parties take place one
Friday a month at the Foxy Gay Club.
Hot international DJ’s are part of the
trademark of Wonk, a party concept
that originates from the Swedish city
Malmö, which is just on the other side
of Oresund.
On top of that, some gay bars also
offer good dance possibilities: Cosy
Bar has a dance floor with DJ’s during
the weekend nights. And at Never
Mind happy pop music often leads to
a full dance floor.
Eating out
Copenhagen has many different eating
venues suitable for all budgets. It
is possible to bring your own lunch bag
to Centralhjørnet – perhaps bought at
the next-door open-faced sandwich
joint.
At Oscar you do not have to bring
the food. If you are in the mood for
eating, you can simply order from the
high-quality café food menu.
At Code you can order food during
the afternoons. Code is serving tapas,
sandwiches and other light meals.
Jailhouse is the only real gay restaurant
in Copenhagen, which is located
on the first floor above the bar. The restaurant
is open on Thursdays, Fridays,
and Saturdays.
Accommodation
Cheap accommodation can be hard
to find in Copenhagen, but there are
many possibilities when it comes to
medium priced and luxury hotels. Gay
accommodation is available at reasonable
prices.
Carstens Guesthouse is a fiveminute
walk from most gay bars and
has a variety of rooms to choose from
and even a dormitory. Enjoy the view
from the cosy terrace at the roof. Carstens
Guesthouse also rents out apartments.
Amagerhus is located in a quiet residential
area close to one of the city’s
beaches and close to Copenhagen
Airport. It is a small bed & breakfast
with guest kitchen and a nice garden
and terrace.
Sex and cruising
Some guests from abroad might ask:
Where are the darkrooms? Darkrooms
are not allowed in bars and nightclubs
in Denmark. If you are in the mood for

Amigo Sauna is Copenhagen’s largest
and most centrally located gay
sauna. It is over 800 square metres
split over three floors.
Body Bio offers something as exotic
as an oral lounge also known as a
sucking labyrinth.
Copenhagen Gay Center is both a
shop and a gay sauna with video room
and cabins.
Men’s Shop has a very large selection
of sex toys, lubricants and porn
films and magazines. But the shop also
sells underwear and gay and lesbian
non-porn films.
SLM – Scandinavian Leather Men
– has moved to a new location in Lavendelstræde
17. But also the new venue
has a large darkroom as well as a
bar area. A membership is required,
and any guest must follow the dress
code to enter the club. For any further

Outdoor cruising is another option,
especially when the spring succeeds
in driving away the cold of winter. The
most popular outdoor cruising place is
Ørstedsparken, which is located very
close to most of the gay bars. The cruising
takes place mostly during the
night, but also during the day. Unfortunately,
gay and bisexual men are
occasionally attacked in Ørstedsparken.
Be vigilant at all times and do not
hesitate to contact the police if gay
bashers are around.
