For the purpose of elucidating this hypothesis t emper atur e and<br />
precipitation were compared for the years of finding. The paper contains<br />
a list of all Danish findings together with a table of the totals<br />
of temperature and precipitation for the period May-September of<br />
the years when the fungus was found.<br />
No conformity, however, was established for the climates of<br />
these years. Most of the years had a total temperature below normal,<br />
computed from the mean temperature for the period 1886-1925.<br />
The supposition that fruit bodies mainly appear in hot years there <br />
fore has to be rejected.<br />
