This is a language course for students of the EFH and KFH in Freiburg. It is mainly aimed at 1st and 2nd<br />
term students. The course offers an opportunity to improve their English through social work topics (e.g.<br />
dysfunctional families, people with special needs) and to acquire vocabulary and linguistic structures (e.g.<br />
grammar, pronunciation) applied to the needs of their profession. The course will also help students to<br />
prepare for field placements in English speaking countries.<br />
Course objectives are to read, understand and discuss English texts related to social work, to acquire and<br />
use English vocabulary specific to social work, and to translate German texts related to social work into<br />
English.<br />
Students should be able to read, understand and speak English, but fluency is not required.<br />
Instruction is in British English.<br />
English for Social Work Profesionals - advanced course<br />

This is a language course for students of the EFH and KFH in Freiburg. It is specifically aimed at students<br />
of the KFH who previously participated in the beginners' course and other advanced students of English.<br />
The course will intensify topics presented in the beginners' course using more demanding texts and will<br />
introduce further social work topics. It offers students an opportunity to put their skills acquired in the<br />
beginners' course into practice and will help them to further improve their English language proficiency.<br />
Students should demonstrate their ability to use English vocabulary specific to social work and to sustain a<br />
fluid conversation in English about social work topics. Students will be required to make a presentation of<br />
a social work topic and lead a discussion.<br />
Instruction is in British English.<br />

Curso de español para estudiantes y profesionales de trabajo social que quieren hacer prácticas o trabajar<br />
en paises de habla hispana. El curso comprenderá:<br />
- lectura de textos con contenidos sociales referentes a España y Latinoamérica,<br />
- ejercicios de conversación y comunicatión<br />
- ejercicios de gramática.<br />
Seminario para participantes con conocimientos básicos de español (2 semestres).<br />
