This is a language course for students of the EFH and KFH in Freiburg. It is mainly aimed at 1st and 2nd
term students. The course offers an opportunity to improve their English through social work topics (e.g.
dysfunctional families, people with special needs) and to acquire vocabulary and linguistic structures (e.g.
grammar, pronunciation) applied to the needs of their profession. The course will also help students to
prepare for field placements in English speaking countries.
Course objectives are to read, understand and discuss English texts related to social work, to acquire and
use English vocabulary specific to social work, and to translate German texts related to social work into
English.
Students should be able to read, understand and speak English, but fluency is not required.
Instruction is in British English.

This is a language course for students of the EFH and KFH in Freiburg. It is specifically aimed at students
of the KFH who previously participated in the beginners' course and other advanced students of English.
The course will intensify topics presented in the beginners' course using more demanding texts and will
introduce further social work topics. It offers students an opportunity to put their skills acquired in the
beginners' course into practice and will help them to further improve their English language proficiency.
Students should demonstrate their ability to use English vocabulary specific to social work and to sustain a
fluid conversation in English about social work topics. Students will be required to make a presentation of
a social work topic and lead a discussion.
Instruction is in British English.

der regelmäßige Termin für die Lehrveranstaltung festgelegt.

Portugiesisch - diese Sprache wird in Portugal, Brasilien, Mosambik, auf den Kapverdischen Inseln und in
Angola gesprochen. Durch die Kooperation der EFH und KFH mit einigen dieser Länder ist es möglich,
dort ein Praxissemester zu absolvieren. Dafür ist notwendig, zumindest einige Aspekte der Sprache zu
können.
Dieser Kurs eignet sich für diejenigen, die den Anfängerkurs im Wintersemester bereits belegt haben und
für andere, die auf eine Gelegenheit warten, wieder einzusteigen. Das Programm enthält ein Training der
Aussprache kombiniert mit grammatikalischen Aspekten, um Sätze bauen zu können. Nach Möglichkeiten
wird der Inhalt auch an den Interessen der Teilnehmer angepasst.
