Juni 2013 7th EDITION from 31 May to 2 June 2013 Für Blumenfreunde und Hobbygärtner ein absolutes Muss: in den 3 Ausstellungstagen verwandelt sich das Städtchen am Gardasee in einen Zaubergarten mit tausend bunten Blumen, üppigen Grünpflanzen und Gewächsen jeder Art. Am 1. Juni steht ein Besuch mit Führung auf dem Programm, der von Geschichte und Kultur erzählt: “I tesori di Padenghe” (die Schätze von Padenghe), organisiert von dem Verein ‘Associazione Roverella’. Unter der Führung von Prof. Andrea Nodari starten die Teilnehmer vom Zentrum des Ortes zum Besuch der reizvollen Kulturschätze im grünen Valtenesi Tal! TREFFPUNKT: um 16.45 Uhr vor dem Gemeindeamt von Padenghe. VERLAUF: vom Bürgermeistersitz durchquert man den historischen Stadtkern bis zur Pfarrkirche Santa Maria und der kleinen Kirche 'Madonna della Neve' von Villa. Nach dem Besuch der Kirchen steigt man über die Treppe des Gässchens Vicolo Focardi zur Festung hinauf, danach geht es zur Lokalität Monte und der alten Mühle. Ein schmaler Pfad führt die Teilnehmer zurück in die Via Antica und zum antiken Waschplatz. DIE TOUR IST FÜR ALLE GEEIGNET: Spaziergang über ungepflasterte und asphaltierte Teilstrecken, Treppenaufgang und Panoramapfad. DAUER: etwa 1 1/2 Stunden. An event not to be missed by flora lovers; 3 days when this small Garda city turns into an enchanted garden, made of hundreds of coloured flowers, plants and shrubs of all kinds. A guided visit to historical places of cultural interest is scheduled to be held on 1st June. It is called I tesori di Padenghe (The Treasures of Padenghe), and is organised by the Roverella Association. Participants, guided by Prof. Andrea Nodari, will leave from the city centre to visit the cultural beauties of the Green Pearl of Valtenesi! MEETING POINT: 04.45 p.m. in front of the Town Hall of Padenghe. ROUTE: From the Town Hall through the historic quarter, participants will visit the parish church of Saint Mary and the small church of Madonna della Neve di Villa. They will climb the staircase by Vicolo Focardi to visit the castle, then the Monte hamlet and the old mill, to climb down again along the track on Via Antica with the old wash-house. INTENDED PARTICIPANTS: Route by foot, for everybody. It alternates unsurfaced stretches, tarmac, staircases and panoramic trail. DURATION: Approximately 1 1/2 hours. JUNE///JUNI 2013 GARDA pleasure 09 QUIGUSTOTOUR E QUINITALY Hochwertige Wein & Essen Wandertour Made in Italy Travelling wine & food quality, Made in Italy Eine Entdeckungstour ins Bel Paese, die uns auf der Suche nach schmackhaften Spezialitäten und guten Tropfen an die schönsten Orte führt, doch auch eine Reise, die erstklassige Produkte auf andere Weise ins Rampenlicht stellt: wir finden sie auf charakteristischen Märkten/Ausstellungen, die auf der, “Piazza“ oder in Straßenvierteln, mit Gastronomieständen und in Einkaufscentern in halb Italien organisiert werden. Wie könnten wir Sinn und Zweck dieser reiselustigen QUINITALY, QUIGUSTOTOUR 2013 Initiative besser zum Ausdruck bringen als mit einem “Fahrtenbuch” und einer außergewöhnlichen Protagonistin auf vier Rädern namens Priscilla. Priscilla ist mein Auto, meine Begleiterin unzähliger Stunden auf Landstraße und Autobahn auf der Suche nach den Orten – ‚Piazze‘, Straßen, Einkaufscenter – wo QUIGUSTOTOUR 2013 zu Gast ist. Priscilla kennt mittlerweile die Straße, jede Kurve, jedes Schlagloch fast auswendig und bringt mich sicher ans Ziel, bis nach Desenzano del Garda. An drei Tagen im Monat sind wir im Einkaufscenter LE VELE. Dieses Center hatte ich als erstes besucht, um es 2012 in die QUIGUSTOTOUR Liste aufzunehmen. Ich kann mich noch an jede Einzelheit erinnern: auf der Rolltreppe ging mir das Herz auf. Ich kam in eine Arkade, die mit üppigen Pflanzen geschmückt war, fröhliches Vogelgezwitscher begrüßte mich. Für mich – ich reagiere eher allergisch auf Lokale mit vielen Menschen, wo man kein Tageslicht geschweige denn die Sonne sieht – war das eine echte Überraschung. In dieser Galerie verläuft eine kleine, bepflasterte Straße mit Bänken unter Olivenbäumen, wo man sich es mit einem Buch gemütlich machen, in aller Ruhe ein Eis essen oder mit Freunden tratschen kann. Eben der ideale Ausgangspunkt für die QUINITALY – QUIGU- STOTOUR. Seither ist einige Zeit vergangen: es gibt schon länger zahlreiche Kunden, die auf ihren “Stammplatz” nicht mehr verzichten möchten: hier probieren und kaufen sie Süßigkeiten aus Sizilien oder lassen sich von den vielfältigen Duftnoten Sardiniens verführen: verschiedene Schafskäsesorten, Carasau Brot, herzhaft gewürzte Wurstwaren und Schinken. Man kann Oliven aus Apulien und schmackhafte, mit verschiedenen Zutaten angereicherte ‚focacce‘ Brotfladen genießen, die Spitzenreiter der ATMOSFERA ITALIANA, ebenso wie die leckeren Wurstwaren aus der Lombardei, und duftender durchwachsener Bauchspeck in verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen; der Blick gleitet über die mit Pilzen gefüllten Gläser, die ich besonders mag und für die ganz Mutigen gibt es dann noch extra scharfe Salami mit Peperoncino, allen voran die Nduja, beste Repräsentantin von Kalabrien. Auch das CAFFE’ TRE MORE erobert unsere Sinne, es riecht herrlich nach frisch gemahlenem Kaffee, der jetzt wieder wie früher lose verkauft wird. Und es gibt noch viele andere Köstlichkeiten, die uns zum Genießen und Verwöhnen einladen. Jedes Mal kommen neue Aussteller hinzu, die neben den bereits bestehenden Geschäften und Stands (mit ihrer Stammkundschaft) das Angebot noch abwechslungsreicher gestalten. Die nächsten Termine von QUIGUSTOTOUR im Juni: am 14.-15.-16.-28.-29.-30. Juni im Einkaufscenter LE VELE in Desenzano del Garda. Es geht weiter… mit DESENZANO BY NIGHT: Musik für jeden Geschmack, Märkte mit handwerklicher Kunst und Gastronomiestände für den großen und kleinen Hunger, in Via Santa Maria und in Via Roma, jeden Mittwoch im Juni, Juli und August an folgenden Tagen: 5.-12.-19.-26. Juni - 3.-10.-17.-25.-31. Juli – 7.-14.-21.-28. August in Desenzano – für die Veranstaltung ‘NOTTE BIANCA’; am 6.-13.-20.-27. in Rivoltella für die Veranstaltung RIVOLT ON THE ROAD. Last but not least die Sommer Events in Via Santa Maria: • MELONE MON AMOUR am 28.-29.-30. Juni, man kann zu Mittag oder Abend essen, die IGP Melonen und Wassermelonen aus Reggio Emilia mit leckerem Schinken und Wurstwaren kosten und, wie wär’s- stilvoll begleitet von einem guten Glas Lambrusco! • FESTA DEL GRANO (Weizenfest) am 26.-27.-28. Juli, ein Querschnitt durch die Vielfalt der italienischen Pasta Sorten und anderer Weizenprodukte: natürlich kann man hier Brot, Pasta, Backwaren und zahlreiche andere Produkte kosten, die ITALIEN und seine Küche berühmt gemacht haben. • A TUTTO SPIEDO – Grillen, was das Zeug hält, heißt es dann wieder am 23.-24.-25. August, mit dem KÖNIG der Brescianer Küche: der FLEISCHSPIESS mit Polenta bittet in Via Santa Maria zu Tisch, um mit viel Spaß und Unterhaltung den letzten Sonntag im August miteinander zu verbringen. Klar, von einem “Addio” ist natürlich noch lange nicht die Rede, wir sagen nur gerade mal‚ Arrivederci‘ bis Ende September, da sehen wir uns wieder, in der Via Santa Maria in Desenzano zu den Herbst Events!!! A journey into discovering the finest wine & food products in the most charming corners of our beautiful region, as well as a trip to make them known by displaying them at market fairs organised at squares, roads and shopping malls of half Italy. To better understand the “wandering” flavour of QUIGUSTOTOUR 2013, a QUINITALY project, there is nothing better than a journal with an outstanding fourwheeled protagonist: Priscilla. Priscilla is my car, my companion through long hours spent on roads and motorways looking for places – squares, streets, shopping malls – hosting QUIGUSTOTOUR 2013. Priscilla already knows the road by heart and carries me effortlessly, anticipating bends and potholes on the tarmac, until we get to Desenzano del Garda. We spend three days a month at the LE VELE Shopping Mall. To tell the truth, this was the first mall I visited to introduce QUIGUSTOTOUR in 2012. When I was climbing the moving staircase, I felt heartened. I found myself within an arcade ornated with luxuriant plants, with little birds flying inside and singing joyfully. For me – I am allergic to places packed with people where you can never see the sun – this was a real surprise. The arcade is a small street with a paved path and benches under olive trees, where you can comfortably read, have a nice ice-cream or talk with friends. Well, this is the ideal place to begin the adventure and introduce QUINITALY – QUIGUSTOTOUR. A long time has already gone by: every month, customers, who are already devoted followers, always meet at these same places in order to taste and compare desserts from Sicily, and dive into the aromas of Sardegna with Pecorino cheese, Carasau bread, spiced and cured salami. You can taste Pugliese olives and stuffed focaccia bread, the top-quality TRULY ITALIAN products, the extremely tasty salami and flavoured bacon from Lombardy; and there you can stop to see the jars with mushrooms that I love so much. And only for the truly brave, salami with hot pepper, with the spreadable Nduja sausage as the per excellence salami representing Calabria. The senses are conquered by CAFFE’ TRE MORE, which is sold loose, as it was in the old days. And there is still so much more. Every time there are new exhibitors, in addition to those that have already made loyal customers; therefore, there are always new things. The coming QUIGUSTOTOUR events in June are: On 14-15-16-28-29-30, at LE VELE shopping mall, in Desenzano del Garda. And then ...NOTTI BIANCHE A DESENZANO (WHITE NIGHTS IN DESENZANO) with lots of travelling music shows, handicrafts markets and good food, on Via Santa Maria and Via Roma, every Wednesday starting in June, and continuing during July and August on the following dates: WHITE NIGHT: 5-12-19-26 June, 3-10-17-25-31 July, 7-14-21-28 August in Desenzano; RIVOLT ON THE ROAD: 6-13-20-27 in Rivoltella. Last but not least, these are the summer season events on Via Santa Maria: • MELONE MON AMOUR on 28-29-30 June, you can have either lunch or dinner while enjoying the PGI melons and watermelons of Reggio Emilia, accompanied with excellent salami and, why not, a good glass of excellent Lambrusco. • FESTA DEL GRANO (CORN FESTIVAL) on 26-27-28 July, an overview of Italian pasta and corn by-products, you can taste bread, pasta, pizza, desserts and all the products that have made ITALY a famous food & wide paradise. • A TUTTO SPIEDO (Spit-roasting) festival, 23-24-25 August. Keep the best memories of summer. Here is the KING of Brescian cuisine: SPIT-ROASTING and polenta, which are cooked and served on Via Santa Maria. A lot of joy and the desire to spend together the last Sunday of August. But this will not be a goodbye, but rather a “see you by the end of September”, always on Via Santa Maria in Desenzano, when we will get together again to enjoy the autumn events!!
